Julius Caesar was born in 100 BC.
Caesar gave his daughter Julia in marriage to Pompeius, who was even older than Caesar for purely political reasons.
After he conquered Gaul, he caused a civil war in which
Pompeius was one of his important enemies. After he had
beaten them all , he had himself appointed as Dictator for life.
Fearing that he would reinstate the hated kingdom in Rome, Julius Caesar was murdered at the iden of march 44BC.
